04 / The suspiciously true story
Craig
Shoemaker.
Comedian. Writer. Actor. Teacher. Professional disruptor of uncomfortable silence.
The short version
He started early.
He never got quiet.
Craig started doing stand-up while he was still in high school in Philadelphia—because apparently adolescence was not already difficult enough.
He paid his way through Temple University by bartending and emceeing comedy shows, earning a degree in Radio, Television and Film while getting a second, less printable education in clubs. Four decades later, he has built a career out of finding the truth, twisting it slightly, and handing it back with a punchline.
Onstage, he is equal parts sharp observer, shameless storyteller, exhausted father, and the deep-voiced alter ego known as The Lovemaster. The material can get personal. It can get weird. It usually gets loud.

Years making rooms lose it
Beyond the microphone
Funny is a weapon. Use it for good.
Craig founded the Laughter Heals Foundation in 2003 after his friend, filmmaker Michael Goldberg, was diagnosed with brain cancer. What began as showing up for a friend became a larger mission: bring laughter into the places that need it most.
That same belief now runs through his teaching and coaching. Craig helps comics, performers, and executives command a room without becoming the person everyone avoids at the hotel bar.
